The shore line of Coala, sometimes spelled as Koala, is up to about 10 meter in depth and composed of rocks and hard corals. After these you will find an underwater composition of fine sand which is ideal for open water training. Most diving is simple drift diving parallel to shore. There are many kinds of goby for under water photographer, green turtles, white tip grey reef sharks, schools of small yellow tail Barracuda and big brown stripped Grouper fish, Black Sailfin goby and pygmy sea horses.
The style of diving, current condition and visibility at Coala Aquarium is pretty much the same. Only difference is that the Aquarium is on the deeper side which has a short semi drop off that lays under water at about 18m. Mid water is often patrolled by big pelagic fish like skip jack and yellow fin Tuna, Wahoo and Great Barracuda and when season thick layer or big shoal of small scud, big eye and red fusilier. Below the drop off area you can find hundreds of red tooth Trigger fish, yellow stripped sweet lips and sometimes black tip reef sharks and dog tooth Tunas.
