Romblon is a province far away from the famous tourist destinations of the Philippines. People in the province are working hard to keep the place green and beautiful and developing it towards an Eco-Tourism Area. Romblon is an island province of the Philippines located in the MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) region in Luzon. The province consists of numerous islands sitting in the Sibuyan Sea. It lies south of Marinduque and Quezon, east of Mindoro, north of Aklan and Capiz, and west of Masbate. The three major islands are Romblon Island, Tablas Island, and Sibuyan Island; other islands include Banton Island, Maestro de Campo Island, Simara Island and Carabao Island. The northern islands of the Archipelago, known as the Maghali group or Tres Islas, form with the islands of Mindoro and Marinduque clear, deep channels, much frequented by Filipino boats. The islands are indented with well sheltered inlets and bays.
Romblon is the perfect dive location for fans of the rare macro fauna, like a variety of frogfish, scorpion fish, lionfish, many nudibranch species and sea horses but you can also find turtles, sea snakes, moray eels, different swarm fish and much more. The most exiting diving experience is the discovery of unknown spots around Romblon and the exclusive trip there. The different diving spots are suitable for different skill levels and for all training and experience level. You can find dive spots with wide spreading stone coral formations, stunning caves, soft coral fields, steep pinnacles and vertical walls.
Besides scuba diving Romblon offers a variety of activities and things to do. You can go swimming, snorkeling, relaxing at one of Romblon's beautiful beaches, most famous are Tiamban Beach and San Pedro Beach. There are many hiking trails around the islands and up towards Mount Guiting-Guiting, but it's advisable to book a local guide. There are tours around its high quality marble factories, visit the shops of Romblon, a visit to the famous national park on Sibuyan Island, known to be one of the world's most important biodiversity hot spots.
