Borocay is a well known holiday destination for divers but that is not its only attraction.

Borocay is a small 7km long and 2km wide island located 2km off the northern tip of Panay. The three small villages Manoc-Manoc, Balabag, and Yapak are connected with pathways and not much happens on the island during day time. It is a pristine holiday island where tourists come for diving, relaxing and sunbathing. The beaches are splendid and coral reefs lie at its shores. At night bars open up at many corners and tricycle traffic increases like rush hour. Then you see that Borocay is one of the most popular island both by Philippino's as foreigners. Borocay is easily reached with Kalibo, Aklan, Panay being the nearest useful airport and ferries crossing between Caticlan and Borocay daily.

During Amihan season, the wind blows from the east, making Borocay's west side a calm sheltered area with smooth warm waters. This is also where you will find White Beach, a 3.5km stretch of palm fringed white sand fully built with resorts, luxury accommodation, dormitories, restaurants and tour agencies that offer all you can wish for. Other beaches that are becoming more and more popular are Yapak Beach or Puka Shell Beach. Bulabog Beach, in the central east of Borocay, is a favorite location for wind surfing and kite boarding. Many naturalists and spelunkers visit the island's astonishing bat cave where you will literally see thousands of bats. Hikers can hike to the 100meter top of Mount Luho, resting with a drink from its kiosk and enjoying the views. You can also golf on its pretty golf course, kayak to several secluded coves, go horseback riding on the beach, relax in some of its spa's or book a sailing tour. Other attractions are a small lake completely covered with dead trees named Dead Forest and the many butterflies in the Boracay Butterfly Garden.

There are many well known dive spots around Borocay. There are some excellent steep drop-offs to be found in the north such as Yapak, while those interested in diving with large pelagic and in strong currents should visit the Manoc-Manoc Channel. Although Borocay was one of the first area's in the Philippines known for its perfect scuba diving, area's such as Puerto Galera have become even more popular as it is accessible for all kind of divers and offers much more diving nearby. Other islands nearby such as Maniguin and the Panagatan Islands can be wicked liveaboard diving trips, all easily booked from Borocay.
