Panglao Island is a famous scuba and vacation island both by locals as foreigners.

Panglao Island is probably the most touristic island in Bohol. It is easily reached by fast ferry from Bohol's capital Tagbilaran or by the bridge connected to the mainland. Bohol's most famous beach is Alona Beach with many shops oriented to tourists and the place to be to find fellow travelers or some sort of entertainment. This 25 times 10 kilometer large island is fringed by palm trees and dotted with sheltered white sanded bays.

Panglao's shores are surrounded by splendid dive sites. From high current diving and steep walls at Arco Point and Napaling to excellent training dive sites at Alona House Reef. Tours to nearby islands such as Balicasag Island, Snake Island and Pamilacan Island are easily arranged as well. It is an island not only known to scuba divers but also to snorkelers and those who just like to have a good time on several of the best beaches in the Philippines.
