Tangkaan Point or Heaven's gate is a long land mass with steep hills sloping abruptly into the sea. The coastline is composed mainly of rocky cliffs and bluffs, which is consistent with much of the topography of the Sogod Bay coast.

Tangkaan has varied reefs and underwater walls. Dive sites are more easily accessed by boat; for snorkelers, there are shallow coral gardens that characterize much of the stretch of the point.
